Burger Builds: The Story Behind the Jean Reno
This month’s limited-time burger is a tribute to something close to the heart and the puku. Introducing the Jean Reno: our bold, French-inspired take on the classic steak frites, reimagined the Fat Puku’s way.
Growing up, steak frites wasn’t just a dish, it was a weekly ritual. Born from French heritage and raised on real flavour, our founder grew up smashing steak and fries together on a plate long before he ever thought about smashing beef on a grill. The Jean Reno is our homage to those roots with that Fat Puku’s edge, of course.
What’s in the Jean Reno?
Here’s how we turned that homestyle classic into a next-level smash burger experience:
Single smashed patty, chopped rough and rustic—like it came straight off the family grill
Double American cheese melted into every crevice
Shoestring fries tucked inside the bun (yep, they’re in the burger)
A hit of garlic butter drizzle to bring that bistro flavour home
Slathered with mayo and our signature sauce
All packed into a soft, griddled hoagie roll
It’s got crunch, it’s got drip, and it’s got that golden, buttery vibe that screams French street food meets smash burger energy.
Why It Slaps
The Jean Reno isn’t just a burger, it’s a story in a bun. A little French flair, a lot of Fat Puku’s flavour, and a nod to growing up with real food, made with love. And while most steak frites need a knife and fork, this one just needs two hands and an appetite.
Get It While It’s Hot
Like all our LTOs, the Jean Reno is only around for a short time. Swing by Fat Puku’s Queen Street or Wynyard Quarter and get your hands on it before it disappears like a 90s video rental.
You can also order it online and have it smashed and delivered straight to your door. But fair warning—once it’s gone, it’s gone.
Ready to smash?
Pull up for the Jean Reno. Your puku will thank you.
